The last of the updates on my 39C writing Twitter account!

This week on Twitter I reflected about my learning experiences in this course, wrote about the problems sharks face and the solutions to those problems based off of what I wrote in my Literature Review/Advocacy Project, replied to some of my classmates' tweets, and followed 10 more accounts of my choice. When reflecting on my learning experiences, I thought back to all the countless assignments we did leading up to our finished Literature Review/Advocacy Project. I wrote one tweet about how much these smaller assignments helped me, how much I learned form them, and how helpful they were in developing my skills. I also wrote a tweet about what I learned from the research part of this class. I had never done such extensive research before, especially researched targeted towards towards one species. Therefore, I had a lot to learn about research and how to find good sources. When tweeting about the problems and solutions I wrote about in my essay, I tried to pick out some key quotes. The quotes I chose to tweet about mostly defined the problems sharks face, some solutions to those problems, the most significant problem sharks face (shark finning), and the history of shark finning. When replying to my classmates, I mostly replied to the infographics they created. I wanted to appreciate the hard work that my classmates put into these infographics and I loved how unique each and every infographic is. Finally, when it came to following 10 more accounts on Twitter, I decided to follow ocean conservation accounts. When researching the problems sharks faced, I learned about some how these problems can also impact other sea creatures. Therefore, I would like to see more content on my Twitter account about how we can save all the creatures in the sea, not just sharks.
Since this is my last Twitter update, I want to talk a little about what I learned about social media, specifically Twitter, over the quarter. Before this class, I had never imagined using Twitter as a place to educate myself and others for a class. However, I was able to learn about the usefulness of social media as a place for advocacy and spreading information or awareness. The use of hashtags on Twitter is a great addition to help find related content and content that you want to see. Especially with the 39canimals hashtag, I was able to easily see what my classmates were tweeting about and made me feel like I was apart of a social media community. With all the knowledge I've learned about Twitter and how to use is as an educational platform, I hope to continue using my account to Tweet and spread awareness on global issues.
I hope you enjoyed my last Twitter update and learned about my journey with this platform!
All the best,
Pallavi Rajeev
