Here is an introduction to my Twitter account, which I use to advocate for animal rights and educate myself and others on animal issues and research!

Twitter was not a platform I used frequently before this 39C writing class, but fortunately my experience with Twitter has gone really well. Although I was initially confused on how to compose my first tweet or retweet, I instantly got the hang of it. Finding researchers to follow on Twitter was a little bit of a struggle because some of the researchers and scientists I had noted down on my TIME article notes were deceased or absent from this platform. However, organizations were much easier to find and follow, especially since many of the researchers I followed on Twitter follow important and useful organizations. I also found the "You might like'' column super helpful when following people and organizations. When it came to actually tweeting, I tended to tweet and retweet about animal issues, in hopes of spreading awareness. I also re-tweeted good news shared by some of the organizations I follow, sharing their same excitement. The animal issue topics I tweeted and re-tweeted are topics that I am interested in further researching, especially the tweets focused on protecting animals from extinction and advocating for their rights. I am excited to continue to use Twitter as a platform to educate myself and others on animal issues and research, as I have already encountered a countless number of informational articles.

I hope you were able to learn a little bit about my Twitter experience and feel free to follow my account!

All the best,

Pallavi Rajeev
